Shadow and I went back to see Dr. Bottoroff this week and her prognosis is very similar to Stella. Though we have decided not to do surgery or take the chance on a tumor aspiration, the prognosis is just the same as Stella. Shadow has tumors in the spleen, liver and lung, along with liquid effusion around the heart.
So we are doing the same kind of activities...although no trip to the beach scheduled yet. There will be lots of treats, ball tosses (her favorite), treats, and trips to smell around Petco (another favorite). If you let me know how to upload them or send them, I will send you pictures of some of those activities. For now Shadow and I are glued at the hip, as I am sure you and Stella are as well.
Here's hoping our girls have several more months of love and happy activities with their humans and animal buds! Annelee
I've been thinking about you. You and Shadow had your appointment on Monday the 8th, right?
Shadow and Stella and are definitely in it together. The pacemaker has made a huge difference for Stella and she's recovering well from the spleen removal and intestine resection. Even though I know that the cancer is lurking and will probably make a comeback at some point, I can sort of deal with it ever present in my peripheral vision. I've decided against chemotherapy and for quality in every day going forward.
She had her first real outing this weekend. We drove up to Tigard from Eugene to celebrate my Dad's 85th birthday. Stella couldn't believe her good fortune when the car sailed past the Corvallis exit - although she loves Dr. Bottorff. My family was glad to finally see her and she rested comfortably right in the middle of all the action wherever the action was throughout the day.
I would love to see pics of Shadow in action. You can attach the photos one at a time and email them to me at kawelsh@q.com. I'd be happy to walk you through it - just let me know.
Til then, a ton of good thoughts and buckets of treats!
